FULL ENGINEERING CYCLE

On a processing facility, opportunities and challenges are identified daily. These can be in the form of additional products, expansions, increasing efficiencies etc. Our team works closely with our clients to define the basis for the modification and the applicable discipline scope of work, such as Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation & Civil.

At the early stages of process and solution development there are a myriad of options that can be considered in the design. These can be layout, overall plot plan, vertical vs horizontal, modular, technology, change over, future expansion, product quality, process flexibility, energy usage, utilities, learning curve, etc. We believe in exploring all viable options and based on our design and construction expertise we can rapidly develop schemes and costing models. This provides the best opportunity to optimize the design concept at the early stages and hence avoid costly rework. SAIYL also has experience in master plan development for overall site complexes.

Once the conceptual decisions have been finalized a more accurate cost estimate is required for approval of capital expenditure. The process design is developed in close collaboration with the client’s technical team and our subject matter experts. Design reviews are methodically performed to test the operability and identify hazards during the start-up, shutdown and normal operation of the plant. The typical basic engineering deliverables are completed and enable the procurement of equipment and long lead items as well as the development of the cost estimate and Basic Engineering Deliverable List.

Once the procurement of the equipment and instrumentation is completed the information received from vendors can be incorporated back into the process, control, piping, civil and structural designs. The objective is to produce approved construction drawings that can be used for final fabrication and construction. This takes place during the execution phase of the project and may run in tandem with procurement and preliminary construction.

BROWNFIELD ENGINEERING

Our engineering department is committed to delivering designs that are not only technically sound but are engineered for construction and operability. SAIYL specialises in executing brownfield projects in complex live operating plants. These modifications require our engineering to take into consideration factors such as Modifications on operational sites; Shutdown planning; Process Tie-ins and Changeovers, etc.

Developing innovative solutions is the corner stone of our business. We have a panel of highlighly experienced subject matter experts with over 35 years of industry experience. We provide a range of studies from the initial scoping stage, through conceptual, Basic (Front End) through to detailed engineering.
